| SWIFT Supports Bled Declaration |

At its second meeting from 12 - 14 March 2008 in Murcia, Spain, the SWIFT project decided to adopt the socalled Bled declaration titled Towards a European approach to the Future Internet. The declaration recognises that a "significant change is required and the European Internet scientific and economic ctors, researchers, industrialists, SMEs, users, service and content providers, now assert the urgent necessity to redesign the Internet, taking a broad multidisciplinary approach, to meet Europe’s societal and commercial ambitions. The latest version of the declaration recognizes the importance of Identity Management an essential part of the Future Internet. It identifies "Technologies ensuring the robustness and security of the networks, managing identities, protecting privacy and creating trust in the on-line world" as part of the design, development and experimental work.
